Awards for Young Musicians

Awards for Young Musicians support the UK’s most talented young musicians (aged 5 to 18), who, because of financial need, may be prevented from fulfilling their creative potential.

Developing a young person’s musical ability requires considerable investment: hours dedicated to practice, travel to be taught by the best available teachers, specialised courses to expand musical horizons and build on skills, and the purchase or loan of high quality instruments.

All these cost a great deal of money. In families where income is limited, it is often impossible to find the funds to support these expenses. This is where AYM aims to help. By fundraising from a wide range of sources, they run an annual Awards programme, whereby £50,000 is distributed to the most talented young musicians in the greatest financial need.

The deadline for the 2010 Awards is pending so if you are passionate about playing a musical instrument and you're in need of help with your musical costs, get in touch before the closing date of Friday 26 March.
