Music in Offices
Classic FM has joined forces with Music in Offices for the Office Musician of the Year Competition 2012.
The Office Choir of the Year competition is in its second year. The event is organised by Music in Offices, a company established in 2006 to celebrate and promote the power and benefits of music in the office environment.
This year thirteen offices will be represented in the competition; BBC Worldwide, Channel 4, Christie’s, Debenhams, Deloitte, Historic Royal Palaces, L’Oreal, News International, Nomura, Norton Rose, SJ Berwin and UBS. They are all hoping to win the prestigious title and the prize of a specially commissioned piece by one of the UK’s brightest composers, Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian.
This year’s competition will see some of London’s most exciting venues being utilised, some for the first time for music. Every choir will perform at a heat in February, which will be held at The Old Bailey, Banqueting House and Christie’s,85 Old Brompton Road.
The semi-final will be held on March 1st 2012 at City Temple Church, Holborn, with the Final taking place on March 22nd 2012 at St. John’s Smith Square.
