Music in Offices
Classic FM has joined forces with Music in Offices for the inaugural Office Choir of the Year Competition.
The Office Choir of the Year competition, the first competition of its kind, was launched in Christ Church, Spitalfield on 2 June 2009. The event is organised by Music in Offices, a young company established to in 2007 to celebrate and promote the mood-enhancing power of music in offices.
Since the competitions launch, 14 brave workplaces, ranging from law firms to hospitals, have stepped up to the challenge. Participating choirs have now all met at exclusive multi-choir workshops, run by prestigious choral director, David Lawrence, (one of the adjudicators), and are now limbering up for the approaching heats. Every choir will perform at the heats and four finalist choirs will compete in front of our panel of adjudicators on 16 March 2010.
Judges are Suzi Digby OBE, David Lawrence, Emma Johnson and Lucy Parham.
Office Choir of the Year Heats & Finals
Thursday 25 February - Office Choir of the Year HEAT for all Cat B Choirs. Venue tbc.
Tuesday 2 March - Office Choir of the Year HEAT for UBS, Willis and Cavendish Singers. Venue UBS Office.
Wednesday 3 March - Office Choir of the Year HEAT for Deloitte, News International, Guardian's Angels and RPC Choir. Venue Deloitte office.
Tuesday 16 March - FINAL at King's Place, London
