The Welsh Proms
Classic FM is the proud partner of the Welsh Proms 2009 - one of the most thrilling events of Cardiff's artistic calendar and a highlight of the Cardiff Festival.
For 24 years they have been conducted by their Artistic Director, Owain Arwel Hughes CBE who brings to them a combination of wonderful music-making and a festive party atmosphere, flowing through their home at St David's Hall, Cardiff, the National Concert Hall of Wales.
The 2009 Welsh Proms have nineteen events through a packed two weeks from 9-25 July, in which prestigious orchestral concerts rub shoulders with informal daytime events by talented younger musicians. One of the highlights this year is the Tiddly Proms – an interactive concert for children aged 5 and under.
