Camilla Kerslake's favourite carols
Camilla Kerslake, who has recently released her first CD, has specially recorded some of her favourite Christmas music. You can watch Abide With Me below.
Classic FM asked Camilla which is her favourite Christmas carol. This is her reply:
“I would say Silent Night is my favourite – it’s my mother's favourite too and she used to sing me to sleep with it when I was a child, so it brings back good memories!”
Abide With Me
This powerful hymn is loved by the religious and non-religious alike. The words were written by Rev. Henry Francis Lyte in 1847, when he was dying of tuberculosis. They were set to music by the organist William Henry Monk in 1861. Since 1927, the first verse has been sung at the start of every FA Cup Final.
