A Ba-ROCK Explosion
Daniel Hope, the celebrated British violinist and Grammy-nominee, performs the very first classical concert in the Elgar Room, the Royal Albert Hall's brand new performance space, on Monday 18 January.
The concert, entitled 'A Ba-ROCK Explosion', will be all-standing as part of the Elgar Room's mission to present music and the performing arts in new and exciting ways. The audience will be able to stand and listen with a drink in the intimate environment - the Room only takes up to 300 people.
Daniel Hope has been described as 'the most exciting British string player since Jacqueline du Pre' and his playing as 'a joy – technically impeccable but still passionate, singing and mercurial'.
In 'A Ba-ROCK Explosion', Daniel Hope and friends will explore the turbulent world of the Baroque, with dance music, love songs and drinking tunes ranging from the highly popular - Bach, Handel and Telemann, to the unknown and outrageous, Falconieri, Matteis and Westhoff.
