The AEGON Masters Tennis

Join some of your favourite tennis legends including Pat Rafter, Goran Ivanisevic, Mark Philippoussis, Pat Cash and Stefan Edberg at the Royal Albert Hall for a fun filled six days of masters tennis. Expect laughter, mischief and maybe even the odd mood swing from some of the biggest characters ever to have played the game.

With its season-ending status on the ATP Champions Tour, the AEGON Masters Tennis is one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments on British soil. Taking place from the 1st - 6th December 2009 at the iconic venue of the Royal Albert Hall , this event offers spectators the chance to watch tennis by some of the greatest players of all time throughout the week.

Former World No.1 and two-time US Open Champion, Pat Rafter , has confirmed he will be making his debut at the event in December. He will be competing against an all-star field that so far includes Goran Ivanisevic, Mark Philippoussis and Stefan Edberg , with more names to be announced soon. Rafter will be looking to seek revenge on Ivanisevic, following their epic Wimbledon final in 2001, where having knocked out British hope Tim Henman in the semi-finals, Ivanisevic prevailed.

The doubles event is more relaxed but still makes for compelling viewing, with wonderful displays last year from crowd favourite Mansour Bahrami, Pat Cash, Henri Leconte and a host of other legends of the game.

The Royal Albert Hall offers one of the most awe-inspiring locations for a tennis tournament, with this world-renowned architectural icon being transformed into a gladiatorial tennis arena.

Tuesday to Saturday there will be two-sessions per day commencing at 1pm and 7.30pm. On Sunday there is only one session, with play commencing at 1.30pm. Sessions will last approximately four hours, consisting of a combination of singles and doubles matches.
