The RSC Presents The Heresy of Love
Experience the heat and intrigue of 17th century Mexico as the RSC celebrates the life of one of literature’s most inspiring women - Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, the subject of Helen Edmundson’s new play The Heresy of Love.
In the sumptuous baroque world of New Spain, Sor Juana’s extraordinary gift for writing about life and love is celebrated at court. But when jealousy leads to betrayal, her way of life is threatened by dangerous ambition and illicit desire.
Directed by Nancy Meckler and designed by Katrina Lindsay, the creative team behind this summer's acclaimed A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Heresy of Love is written by Helen Edmundson, whose recent work includes Swallows and Amazons (Bristol Old Vic/National Theatre) and Coram Boy (National Theatre and Broadway).
Don’t miss your chance to see The Heresy of Love, which plays for a limited run until the 9th March at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon. Tickets start from £14 and there is no booking fee.
