Alfie Boe
Biography
Alfie Boe is in possession of one of the finest tenor voices to come out of this country for many years. Hailing from the North of England, Alfie was working with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company when he decided to go to music college.
He studied at The Royal College Of Music, The National Opera Studio and then the Royal Opera House Young Artists Programme.
Whilst doing his apprenticeship as a mechanic in the north of England, Boe took the brave move of leaving his job and pursuing his dream.
Music
When he was at the ROH Young Artists Programme he was offered one of the leads in Baz Luhrmann’s controversial Broadway production of La Bohème. Alfie was strongly advised not to take the role.
He considered the advice but really wanted to take the part. He took a leap of faith with Luhrmann and was rewarded with a Tony Award for his performance.
Alfie Boe isn't conventional; he is a great ambassador for classical music. His sheer talent and hard work has taken him on an incredible and successful journey in the classical arena. With his voice and beguiling charm Alfie Boe is destined to become a household name.
