Jonathan Ansell

Biography

A keen singer from a young age, Jonathan Ansell went on to receive vocal training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Here he met Ben Thapa, Michael Christie and Tom Lowe and formed the group G4, with the intention to busk in London to raise money to cover their student expenses.

By 2004 G4 had risen to fame as they battled for the lucrative recording contract  in the TV talent show, 'X-Factor'. The group just missed out, but were instead signed by Sony BMG and went onto record three albums and perform in four sell-out tours.

Since the group's split in August 2007, Jonathan Ansell has launched a career as a solo tenor, signing a five album deal with Universal Records. He has also taken part in the recording of  the 2007 Rugby World Cup anthem, 'World in Union' alongside 30 other classical artists, including All Angels and Hayley Westenra.
