G4
Biography
The original X-Factor success story, all-male vocal group G4 released a No. 1 selling album, completed two sell-out UK tours and sold a stunning 1.2 million albums since their spectacular debut in 2004, before splitting in 2007.
All accomplished performers, formally trained at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the boys were originally a busking group in Covent Garden before their natural talent, and a fortunate twist of fate, led them to the X-Factor auditions where they wowed the British public with their unique, pop-operatic sound.
Officially one of the biggest selling acts of 2005, G4, were Jon Ansell, Matt Stiff , Michael Christie and Ben Thapa. Jon Ansell has since gone solo.
Music
G4 recorded with some of the industry’s leading figures, including Robin Gibb, Lesley Garrett and Sir Cliff Richard and performed at the Royal Albert Hall on more than 10 occasions.
Managed by pop svengali Louis Walsh, G4 released their third album, Act Three in November 2006.
Brimming with 13 tracks, this album was created with producer Graham Stack - whose credits include Rod Stewart, Ronan Keating and Kylie Minogue, as well as the band's two previous Top Ten smash-hits 'G4' and 'G4 & Friends' which were double platinum and platinum respectively.
It also features additional production by Nigel Wright on the tracks 'Volare' and 'We'll Meet Again'.
