Laura Wright
At the tender age of 15 Laura Wright won the Radio 2 Chorister of the Year. This resulted in performances around the country which included the Soloist in John Rutter’s Requiem at St. Paul’s Cathedral… this was just the beginning.
Laura has performed at a number of prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, Twickenham, Old Trafford, 02 Arena, Royal Festival Hall, Parliament and has performed for HM The Queen, The Prime Minister and many others.
Laura was part of the female vocal quartet All Angels who were signed to Universal and launched in 2006. She recorded three albums with the band, the first of which was the fastest selling classical album of all time and was awarded a Platinum disc. Total album sales have reached over a million and All Angels were nominated for a Classical Brit Award for Album of the Year in 2007.
In April 2011, Laura struck out on her own to record her debut solo album. The Last Rose, released by Decca Records, topped the Classical Charts for several weeks as well as entering the Pop Album Charts top 10. The album has sold over 2.5 million copies to date and made Laura one of the biggest selling classical artists in the UK in 2011.
Laura kicked off 2012 in spectacular style touring with Alfie Boe, performing live to over 150,000 people so far this year. She will also be touring with Tenor Russell Watson this summer as part of a Nationwide Diamond Jubilee Tour.
