Alsop, an officially inspiring woman

Marin Alsop has been in London recently, and we took the opportunity to gauge her reaction on having been voted one of the Top 100 inspiring women by The Guardian.
She tells us that she loves being a role model for "women interested in going to fields not normally inhabited by women".
We also find out how she builds up relationships with the orchestras she conducts all over the world, why conducting is "a microcosm of life", and why it’s so important that children learn to play instruments.
