Bryn Terfel on hopes for Christmas number 1

Bryn Terfel is still in with a chance of clinching a Christmas Number One for White Christmas. His duet with Bing Crosby is currently given odds of 20-1, with the X-Factor winner still leading the field, and The Priests with Shane MacGowan biting his heels.
Bryn tells Classic FM about recording the track:
"Bing Crosby singing White Christmas is the quintessential Christmas song - full of nostalgia, beautiful and brimming with all that's good about this time of year. It was a huge privilege to be able to record it as a duet. I'm delighted with it and hope that this recording will bring it to a whole new generation."
The single is just one track from Bryn’s latest album - released this week - called Carols and Christmas Songs. It includes two CDs of festive favourites, including a Welsh disc.
Commenting on his chart hopes, Bryn says: "The X Factor machine is huge and its marketing power is phenomenal, so anyone going against it for the Christmas number one slot has a big job to do. I've never had a UK number one, and neither has Bing, so it would be a dream come true for me. It's also 25 years since Shakin Stevens' topped the charts with 'Merry Christmas Everyone', so come on Wales, let's bring it home!"
