Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Classic FM are giving you the chance to hear the new Harry Potter soundtrack before it's played anywhere else!

On Saturday 4 July , Mark Forrest gave the first UK radio play of Nicholas Hooper 's score to 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' - the sixth film in the series.

The soundtrack is not available until 13 July - but if you're a Hogwarts fan, make sure you listen to Classic FM all this week as we'll be including excerpts from the full soundtrack in the run-up to the film's release on 15 July. And just in case you miss any of the tracks, here are five clips to sample:

Composed by Nicholas Hooper, who also composed the music for 'Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix' . the soundtrack will be available to buy on July 14. The score includes 28 tracks, with over an hour of material. Making it the longest Harry Potter soundtrack to date. An enhanced edition of the soundtrack will also be released, featuring a free digital download of the entire soundtrack and exclusive bonus content.

Star Wars composer John Williams wrote the music for 'Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone' , 'Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets' , and 'Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban' , Patrick Doyle composed 'Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire'.
