Schools Proms and Music Teacher of the Year

The final Schools Prom took place last night and the remaining Music Teacher of the Year Award recipients were announced.
Lord Hill presented Judith Ennis from Bents Green School in Sheffield with the Special Education Needs Music Teacher of the Year Award, and Sandra Sutton from The Castle School, Taunton received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
On Tuesday, Sarah Marks, from Pimfold Primary in Lancashire collected the Primary School Music Teacher of the Year, and Matthew Stimpson from Beckfoot School in West Yorkshire was named Secondary School Music Teacher of the Year. Both Awards were presented by Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport.
On Monday, Jean Tremarco of Liverpool Music Support Service received the Peripatetic Music Teacher of the Year Award from Tim Loughton, MP.
Classic FM has teamed up once again with Avid Sibelius, Yamaha and Music for Youth to recognise and reward the nation’s most inspirational music teachers, with the Music Teacher of the Year Awards.
The Awards are presented at the Music for Youth Schools Proms, which showcase some of the UK's finest young musicians and are testament to the dedication of their music teachers. This year hosted by Classic FM's Margherita Taylor, the Schools Proms took place on Monday 8th, Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th November.
