Vanessa White
A relative newcomer to pop stardom, Vanessa White came to fame in 2008 as a member of the girl band The Saturdays.
At 20 years-old Vaness is the youngest member of The Saturday's - and the youngest contestant on the show.
A former pupil of the Sylvia Young Theatre School, she is noted for her extensive vocal range and has been likened to American singers Alicia Keys, Christine Aguilera, Beyoncé and Mariah Carey.
Vanessa's pop career took off in 2007 when she auditioned for a place in a new girlband and was swiftly signed up to join Una Healy, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford, and Rochelle Wiseman thanks to her incredible vocals.
The Saturday's debut album 'Chasing Lights' peaked at number nine on the UK Albums Chart, and produced five Top 30 singles on the UK Singles Chart, but it was their cover of the Depeche Mode track 'Just Can't Get Enough' as the official Comic Relief single of 2009 then gave them their biggest chart hit, peaking at number 2 in the UK Singles Chart. The band have toured the UK with Take That and Girls Aloud.
In October 2009, the girls enjoyed their second number 2 single with 'Forever Is Over', taken from their second album, 'Wordshaker'.
What does the pop starlet make of the opera world?
"opera is so relaxing. Some people think it's just for old people, but it appearsl to everyone. Opera music is universal."
"I've learnt to hit high notes I never know I could reach. It's been an amazing process. All in all, it's a huge technical challenge because there are masses of things going on at the same time."
