Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts
Short listed for an Academy Award last year, Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts, is Scott Hicks’ film about eighteen months in the life of the world’s only celebrity contemporary classical composer, Philip Glass.
Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts will be released on DVD on 6 July.
Hicks, best known for the award wining 'Shine', started shooting his film about Glass to celebrate his 70th birthday in 2007. Over the next 18 months, he followed Glass across three continents, weaving an intimate portrait of the controversial artist as he wrote his eighth symphony and completed scores for a number of films.
A totally absorbing and often inspirational film about the mind of a creative artist, Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts is not only a must have for hardcore fans, but a treat for those who know nothing of his music at all. The DVD contains nearly two hours worth of extras, including deleted scenes, further interviews and performances of ‘Dracula’, ‘Metamorphosis’, ‘Orion’ and ‘Einstein on the Beach’.
We have teamed up with Drakes Avenue Pictures and Radiopaq to give three lucky winners the chance to get their hands on a pair of custom tuned Radiopaq headphones along with a copy of the DVD.
Radiopaq headphones are professionally designed to give the best possible reproduction of a particular genre of music and faithfully reproduce every nuance of the performance. You can choose from a selection of classical, jazz, rock or pop custom tuned earphones to achieve the best possible sound for your preferred genre.
Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts will be available from DVD on 6 July.
