The works of Elisabeth Frink are stark and striking and yet packed with powerful symbolism. A life sized sculpture called Birdman, with an estimated value of £250,000 has just gone on show at Leeds Arts Gallery. It was given to Leeds by the Frink Estate and Beaux Arts in London thanks to the Art Fund. But why is this piece so important. Emma Lilley is a Frink expert from Beaux Arts, and explains its significance.
