Biography
Broadcasting legend Simon Bates is the voice of Classic FM Morning Show, weekdays 8-12pm.
Simon began his broadcasting career after wrestling unsuccessfully with grammar school and a redbrick university. He worked in the USA, New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia before returning to the UK. Simon became a much-loved, national institution as a Radio 1 presenter and his love-story feature 'Our Tune' became a must-listen for millions of listeners every weekday morning.
A life-long movie fanatic, Simon joined Classic FM in 1997 to present Classic FM at the Movies on Saturdays between 4pm and 6pm and Classic Romance. He has also presented Classic FM Drivetime and now hosts Classic FM Morning Show every weekday morning from 8am.
Simon is a Sony Radio Awards winner and has been honoured by broadcasters in the United States, Brazil, India and Australia.
