Saturday Night at the Movies with Howard Goodall

Classic FM’s resident film and TV composer will be playing soundtracks from the latest movies and classical favourites featured in films.

We’re delighted to be broadcasting a film soundtracks programme on Classic FM, presented by Howard Goodall – a man who’s no stranger to composing for the big screen.

Saturday 2 February

This week, it’s a very special edition of Saturday Night at the Movies, celebrating the man who’s had one of the most glittering careers in all of Hollywood: the composer John Williams.

Ahead of Williams’ birthday this coming Wednesday, Howard Goodall will be dedicating the whole of his show to the great man’s finest soundtracks.  All of John Williams’ rousing favourites like Star Wars, E.T., Superman and Indiana Jones are included, as well as some of his most lyrical scores for such films as Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan and Seven Years in Tibet.

There’ll be plenty of family favourites, too, including Harry Potter and Home Alone, as well as a chance to discover a few of Williams’ lesser-known scores for the movies Nixon, The Patriot and The Accidental Tourist.

It promises to be a very special two hours – so join Howard Goodall, this Saturday evening from 5, as we pay tribute to the movie music master that is John Williams.
