Classic FM's Music Makers is a grant giving charity which raises money to fund music education and therapy projects working with the most disadvantaged children and adults across the UK. We are currently funding:
The Princes’ Foundation for Children and the Arts
Working with The Princes' Foundation for Children and the Arts, a £100,000 grant launched the MusicQuest project which aims to give primary school children, who might otherwise never have the chance, the opportunity to experience the magic of live classical music.
The aim is to break down the perception that classical music is stuffy and elitist, and inspire children to make music, helping develop their self confidence, self esteem and learning abilities. Now in its third year MusicQuest has given over 15,000 children the opportunity to see the Philharmonia Orchestra live, learn the amazing stories behind music and to try out the instruments for themselves.

Music Makers has also funded:
Live Music Now
A £40,000 grant funded 10 projects across the UK which used music for therapeutic benefit.
These projects ranged from performances in care homes for adults with dementia and schools for children with special needs, through to a cultural integration project for children in Northern Ireland.
Future Talent
£6,000 was given to Future Talent to fund bursaries for their ‘Future Champions’ award scheme which, working with the Halle Orchestra, identifies children with exceptional music talent in the Northwest of England and supports their development and musical education.
£30,000 was awarded to fund a specialist music teacher working through three primary schools in East Hull. The teacher spends one day a week at each school providing extra curricular music education to children who normally would not encounter the arts in their day to day lives, with the aim of giving the children the opportunity to achieve in music, learn how to express themselves through another medium, build self esteem and confidence.
