Biography
Matthew Stiff, a former member of classical music boyband G4, joins the weekend team at Classic FM.
Matthew Stiff came to fame on the talent contest 'The X Factor' in 2004 as a member of G4. The vocal group narrowly missed out on the lucrative record deal, however after signing a £1.5 million album deal with Sony BMG, went on to outsell the winner.
The idea of G4 came about during Matthew's studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Here he met Jonathan Ansell, Ben Thapa and Michael Christie and formed the group G4, with the intention to busk in London to raise money to cover their student expenses.
During their three years together G4 sold in excess of 1.5 million albums in the UK and completed five UK sell-out tours.
